This parent chose Apeejay School, Tanda Road, because the school places strong emphasis on co-curricular activities. The teaching approach, which focuses on helping children learn through enjoyable and engaging methods, appealed to Aamna Gupta immediately. That is what finally helped her make the decision for her son, Dhritil, who is studying in Class V here.
In a candid interview, the mother shares how the school environment encourages holistic development, among other things.
How have your interactions been during parent-teacher meetings?
The parent-teacher meetings are always constructive. The feedback we receive is useful and helps me make sure that at home, my son stays in sync with what is being taught in the classroom. It keeps both parents and teachers aligned.
How does the school environment encourage holistic development?
The school maintains a healthy balance between academics, co-curricular activities, and sports. Children get the chance to explore new interests while staying focused on their studies. This combination builds exposure and shapes qualities that go beyond regular classroom learning. I see this holistic approach reflected in my son’s growth.
How does your child participate in school activities?
My son loves taking part in all the activities organised at the school. The nicest part is that he does this on his own; I never have to push him. Whether it’s a dance competition or a drawing competition, he always ensures his name is on the list. Watching that enthusiasm is very reassuring.
He enjoys sports, especially kickboxing. He has even won Gold and Silver medals, which has been a proud moment for us.
How has the school helped shape your child’s personality?
The school has contributed a lot to his confidence. With so many opportunities to participate and perform, he has become more willing to try new things. The teachers encourage him and make sure every child feels valued. That support gives him the confidence to step forward without hesitation.
What changes have you observed in your child after joining the school?
He has become more independent and takes responsibility for his work. He is more enthusiastic about school events and is disciplined with his routine at home. These changes show how much the school environment has helped him grow.
How is he performing academically?
Academically, he does well in all subjects. He completes his work on time and is diligent in his studies.
How do you ensure continuity between classroom learning and home learning?
I try to stay updated with what is being taught and follow the same methods at home. This avoids confusion and strengthens what he learns in school.
