If I were a bird flying in the sky,
I would drift above the picturesque valley,
And fly above the beguiling sea,
Crossing the sandy shoes in daylight’s gleam
I would soar through the forest,
And glide through the thicket,
And enter a bee-loud glade
Filling my beak with water from the lake.
I would dance with the daisies,
And the sparrows would sing me lullabies,
As my wings would flutter against the wind
The feeling of peace would enter my mind!
During my escapade,
I would dwell near the mountains,
Where midnight’s all a glimmer
I would watch the stars shine and shimmer!
Speaking to the blossoming daffodils,
I would tell them stories of my travels
Preserving these memories in the deep heart’s core,
Remembering them for evermore
