An MBA isn’t just about textbooks—it’s about transformation. For Sourav Chopra, the two years at Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka (Batch of 2020), were foundational. Now thriving in a high-demand sales role at ITC Ltd., he looks back at the training, lessons, and mentors who helped him break into the competitive corporate world.

Sourav, why did you choose to pursue an MBA at ASM?
After graduation in BBA, my brother encouraged me to go for higher studies in the same field. ASM had a strong reputation, and I liked the dual focus on Finance and Marketing. It turned out to be a great decision.

What were the most valuable learnings during your MBA?
The marketing concepts—especially the case study discussions—really helped. Also, the focus on relationship management, team dynamics, and communication directly mirrors the work I do now in sales.

Were you placed from campus?
Yes, I was campus placed at ITC Ltd. ASM prepared me really well for the selection process. From resume building and group discussions to interview practice, the faculty guided us every step of the way.

We hope the training made you stand out?
Yes, we were taught how to handle GDs, answer questions smartly, and present ourselves professionally. It all helped.

Did ASM offer enough practical exposure—like internships and live projects?
Yes, the summer internship was one of the best parts. It gave me real industry exposure. We also had a fair number of business presentations and assignments that mimicked real-world situations.

Did you engage in any extracurriculars during your MBA?
I did play some cricket occasionally. But most of my time was spent focusing on academics and placement prep, especially during the final semester.

Any advice for current ASM MBA students?
Focus on your academic credits and stay alert during placement season. Prepare for GDs and interviews seriously. The college will give you the tools—you just need to use them smartly.
