Read edited excerpts here.

What does your preparation look like?

I practised with my father for five days on the treadmill in the gym and then started with flat race sessions outside my home on the streets. This helps me adapt to different surfaces and conditions, allowing me to refine my technique and performance for outdoor racing.

What were the challenges you faced?

Initially, I used to get a bit tired but gradually my stamina increased. As my body adapted to the increasing intensity, I found myself able to push through the fatigue and complete the sessions with more energy and endurance.

How was your experience during the competition?

At first instance, we thought it would be difficult for me to finish the race as it was my first time but when I completed the race, my parents were proud of me and it gave me immense happiness.

Any special diet you follow?

I eat a diet which is healthy and nutritious. Usually, I prefer eating only home-cooked foods like oats, desi ghee, curd, and milk.

How has Apeejay supported your athletic journey?

School is often considered a child’s second home, and teachers are like second mothers, guiding and nurturing us at every step. Their support has been unwavering, especially from the Officiating Principal, Ms Priyanka Grover, and Ms Maninder Kaur, who has been a pillar of strength throughout my journey.

Will you pursue athletics in future?

I will pursue sports in the coming future. On December 1, 2024, I will be participating in the Daud Jalandhar Daud competition and aiming for the best.

Who is your inspiration?

My father, Mr Navtej Singh, who holds the title of Mr World in bodybuilding, has always been my inspiration. Seeing his dedication and achievements motivates me to strive to be like him.

Who is your favourite athlete and why?

Ever since I heard the biography of Milkha Singh he has been my favourite athlete and I want to follow in his footsteps and make my nation proud.

How has athletics changed your life personally?

I feel more active both mentally and physically, and this newfound energy has brought a positive shift in my life. It motivates me to embrace new challenges and push my limits even further.
