Aarti Sharma, a proud alumna of Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, is currently excelling as a Customer Service Manager at ICICI Bank. With a background in Finance and Marketing, Aarti credits ASM for shaping her into the professional she is today. What does a day at work look like for you?
My primary role involves handling trade transactions for corporate clients, with a focus on export and inland trade. Every day brings something new, and it’s rewarding to assist clients in managing their trade requirements efficiently.

What are your fondest memories of Apeejay School of Management? How did your course shape your career?
There are countless fond memories of my time at ASM. The CRC (Corporate Resource Centre) played a pivotal role in preparing us for the corporate world. From interview practice to group discussions, ASM equipped me with the skills I needed to secure a reputable position in the banking sector.

Were the professors at ASM helpful in guiding your career path?
Absolutely. The professors at ASM were instrumental in helping us identify our areas of interest. Their guidance ensured that I was well-prepared to step into a role that aligned with my strengths and aspirations.

Can you share three projects you worked on at ASM that contributed to your growth?
Certainly!

  1. Financial Report Analysis: I studied cash flow statements, profit-and-loss accounts, balance sheets, and ratios of a company. This project enhanced my financial acumen.
  2. Business Idea Development: I worked on creating a business plan, which helped me understand the nuances of starting and managing a venture.
  3. Company Survey: Conducting a survey through a well-prepared questionnaire gave me insights into sales, profitability, and market dynamics.

What advice would you give to current students?
I would advise students to focus on practical projects, reports, surveys, and paid internships. These experiences, combined with a strong grasp of your specialization, will set you apart during interviews. Stay updated with current industry scenarios—it’s crucial for cracking interviews and thriving in your field.

Did ASM prepare you well for campus placements?
Yes, ASM prepared us thoroughly. They helped us craft professional CVs and trained us to be interview-ready, which played a significant role in me being placed at ICICI Bank through campus placements.

What are your future aspirations?
My next goals are to achieve growth, promotions, and recognition in the banking sector. I aim to continuously improve and contribute meaningfully to my field.
