
The spirit of patriotism and national pride echoed through the corridors of Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, Jalandhar, as students and staff came together to celebrate the Republic Day with enthusiasm and reverence. The event served as a reminder of India’s glorious journey as a democratic republic, instilling in young minds the values of unity, freedom, and responsibility.
The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by Principal Mr. A.K. Sharma, accompanied by Vice Principal Ms. Aarti Shorey Bhat, faculty members, and students, followed by the soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem.
A special morning assembly set the tone for the day, beginning with an inspiring thought shared by Aakriti Bhat of Class IV and an informative speech delivered by Ayaan Verma of Class VI. To deepen students’ understanding of the occasion, a video presentation on the history and significance of Republic Day, along with an overview of constitutional rights and duties was screened.
The school choir, led by Ms. Nidhi Sharma, added to the patriotic fervor with their melodious renditions of patriotic songs. The audience was captivated by the heartfelt singing of Sahibjot Singh (Class VII), Tarandeep (Class I), and Amardeep (Class VI). The celebrations concluded on an energetic note with vibrant dance performances by Diya Soni (Class III), Guneet Gupta (Class IV), and Saarthak Hans (Class III).
In his address, Principal Mr. A.K. Sharma enlightened students about the making of the Indian Constitution, highlighting its unique features and the responsibility of the younger generation in upholding its principles. He also emphasized the Republic Day 2025 theme – “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), encouraging students to take pride in India’s rich heritage while striving for progress.
The celebrations not only ignited a deep sense of patriotism but also reinforced the values of democracy, equality, and national unity among students.
