Dove, an American personal care brand, is one of the best examples of how PR campaigns help brands in managing crises. Dove launched the campaign for ‘Real Beauty’ in 2004 because Dove’s earlier advertisement was more focused on young fair skin women and after facing backlash worldwide on presenting fair skin only was racial. People raised their voices against racial discrimination against Dove. Then Dove came up with their game changer Campaign with putting forward a big concern women are facing worldwide is that traditional beauty standards “The Real beauty” campaign rather than featuring models they featured real women representing every skin color, body type and different features. The Campaign mostly focused on the natural raw beauty of women. According to a survey only 2% of women worldwide consider themselves beautiful. By doing this Dove wanted to change the narrative about traditional beauty standards. And aimed at recognizing beauty comes in all sizes, shapes, colors and ages this was the main important message that Dove wanted to convey it talked about inclusivity and Body positivity and this campaign gained huge and huge popularity worldwide the realistic beauty presentation of women in Campaign was appreciated a lot.

Dove successfully became a brand that talked about the realistic side of women breaking all the stereotypes that were coming from ages and became a personal care brand that is for all ethnicities and promoted diversity.  The Real beauty campaign effect lasted on a long term basis by this Dove differentiate itself from other brands and by this we can say how a strategic creative campaign can help your brand flourish and build customer loyalty towards the brand. PR campaigns and PR have always been best friends of brands.
