
Apeejay School, Nerul, celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great éclat, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour, reaffirming the values of unity, integrity, and national pride. The school campus wore a festive look as students, teachers, parents, and staff gathered together to commemorate this historic day in India’s democratic journey.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the school, Principal, Mr P Subhash. As the Tricolour unfurled against the clear morning sky, the entire gathering stood in solemn respect and saluted the flag, expressing their pride in the unity and glory of the nation. The atmosphere was charged with patriotism and reverence.
The celebrations began on a spiritual note with an invocation dance performed by the students. The graceful presentation reflected India’s rich spiritual heritage and conveyed the universal message of peace, harmony, and coexistence. The performance set the tone for the rest of the programme and was warmly appreciated by the audience.
One of the most significant highlights of the celebration was the felicitation of parents of high achievers, a tradition that the school proudly upholds every year. Acknowledging the crucial role of parents in shaping the future of students, the school honoured the parents of Aryan Gehlot (XII D), Jayden Sony (X B), Dhriti Mehta (IX A), Sreeroopa Dasgupta (IX A), Anoushka Bagul (IX A), Geet Panda (VIII D), Zoe Malhan (VIII C), and Hiya Patil (VI D). The Principal felicitated the parents and presented them with tokens of appreciation, applauding their unwavering support and guidance.
In his inspiring address, the Principal emphasised the true essence of being responsible citizens. He stated that beyond obeying laws and fulfilling civic duties, it is equally important to recognize and honour those who work selflessly for the progress of the nation. He highlighted the invaluable contributions of soldiers, teachers, scientists, farmers, and workers, reminding students that every individual plays a vital role in strengthening the country.
To underline the significance of the Constitution and the relevance of Republic Day, confident and enthusiastic students delivered impactful speeches in English, Hindi, and Marathi. Their thoughtful words reflected a deep understanding of democratic values and ignited a sense of pride among listeners. Adding a musical touch to the celebration, the school choir enthralled the audience with a melodious rendition of a patriotic song, further elevating the spirit of nationalism.
The patriotic fervour reached its zenith with a vibrant cultural dance presentation. Through colourful and energetic performances representing various Indian states, the students beautifully depicted the theme of Unity in Diversity, showcasing India’s rich cultural mosaic.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt ‘vote of thanks’, followed by the entire assembly standing together to sing Vande Mataram. The celebration ended on a high note, leaving everyone inspired and proud to be citizens of India.
