
Science Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park was a spectacular journey of learning, exploration, and creativity, engaging students through hands-on activities and thought-provoking experiments. In addition to the other days, Day 4 and Day 5 of the Science Week lived up to the promise of the final days as excitement and learning touched the brim.
Day 4: A Walk Through Science and Awareness
The fourth day of Science Week focused on real-world applications of scientific concepts through interactive sessions. Class 5 students embarked on a nature walk within the school premises, observing diverse plant species and learning about ecological balance. The experience helped them recognize biodiversity in their surroundings, fostering an appreciation for nature.
Class 4 students took part in a slogan-writing activity, where they created impactful messages on the dangers of plastic waste. This initiative encouraged them to think critically about environmental conservation. While class 3 students engaged in an interactive session on traffic rules and road safety signs. Through role-playing, they reinforced the importance of responsible behavior on roads and pledged to follow traffic rules diligently.
Day 5: The Grand Science Exhibition
The culmination of Science Week was marked by an innovative exhibition, where students displayed a range of impressive projects and experiments. Some of the key highlights included:
- Hydroelectricity Models: Showcasing how water power is harnessed to generate clean energy.
- Eco-Friendly Innovations: Creative solutions emphasizing sustainability and environmental conservation.
- Space Science Exploration: Presenting fascinating insights into celestial bodies and space travel.
- Scientific Experiments: Live demonstrations explaining concepts such as gravity and buoyancy, leaving the audience in awe.
Students confidently presented their projects, explaining the scientific principles behind their work. The exhibition successfully encouraged scientific thinking, creativity, and innovation among young learners.
Ms. Surbhi Batra , activity in-charge and PGT Home Science shared, “Through Science Week, our students gained hands-on experience, developed essential skills and built confidence in their ability to make a positive impact through science.” She added, “The Science Week not only enhanced our students’ scientific knowledge but also instilled in them a sense of wonder, awe, and curiosity about the world around them.”
Students too poured their hearts out for Science week. Aarav Sehrawat from class 8-C shared, “Science is not just about books, it’s about experimenting, creating, and having fun!” while Arshita Mulchandani from class 8-A stated, “It was thrilling to see my project come to life and get such a great response! These activities helped us see the cool side of the subject. ”
With an engaging blend of activities and a grand showcase of talent, Science Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, proved to be an enlightening experience, igniting a passion for science in every student. It helped students identify the scientific temperament within themselves and cultivate a spirit of curiosity and logic.
