NEET PG 2025 exam date likely to be postponed

As the NEET PG 2024 counselling process continues to remain underway, speculation is rising around a possible postponement of the NEET PG 2025 exam, which is currently scheduled for June 15, 2025. With the National Board of Examinations (NBE) yet to provide an official update, anxious aspirants are turning to social media platforms, demanding clarity and accusing the authorities of mismanagement.

The ongoing delay in the 2024 counselling process, especially for the stray vacancy round, is cited as a major reason behind the anticipated shift in the 2025 exam schedule. Recently, the NBE reduced the NEET PG 2024 cut-off percentile by 5 points across all categories, prompting several states to revise their stray vacancy schedules. This has pushed the academic calendar further back, overlapping dangerously close to the scheduled 2025 exam date.

Notably, last year’s NEET PG exam was postponed three times due to similar logistical issues, with the final exam being conducted on August 11, 2024. This precedent has strengthened current speculations about a possible delay this year as well.

The lack of a timely official statement from NBE has only added to students’ distress. Candidates are expressing concern about inadequate preparation time and uncertainty around timelines for internships and admissions. Many are demanding a well-structured and transparent schedule to avoid last-minute chaos.

Education experts have also called for better coordination between NBE, MCC (Medical Counselling Committee), and state bodies to ensure that such disruptions do not become a recurring issue.

While the NBE has not yet confirmed any changes to the NEET PG 2025 date, the growing administrative backlog makes a postponement seem increasingly probable. Aspirants are advised to stay updated through official channels and continue their preparation with flexibility in mind.
