‘Loneliness’: Poem by Bhavit Vatta, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

I find rain, dripping from the face of the sky

To an endless extent.

I find water, flowing through the streets

To an endless extent.

I find wind, rustling through the leaves

To an endless extent.

At last, I find myself sitting, watching nature

With no remorse, no thought, no will, no desire

In a silent paradise, I lie

A silence that feels almost as noise

For it feels like an endless loop

Where all is going in a group

Yet they seem so lonely at last

For loneliness is an adjective

Some have it and some don’t

Yet they all lie in the same path.

When lonely,

What matters is not the path

But what goes on in the heart
