JEE (Main) Session 1: Students share their success strategies and preparation journey

Cracking JEE (Main) Session 1, one of India’s most challenging engineering entrance exams is an accomplishment that demands perseverance, precision, and unwavering focus. This year, Rajwardhan Dighe secured an outstanding 98.1 percentile, while Yash Kumar achieved an impressive 97.37 percentile, marking a proud milestone for Apeejay School, Nerul.

Their success is a testament to disciplined preparation, conceptual clarity, and consistent practice rather than shortcuts or last-minute cramming. Both students approached their preparation strategically, strengthening fundamentals, revising regularly, solving diverse problem sets, and learning from mock tests. Equally important was their ability to stay resilient under pressure and maintain a balanced routine. Their achievement dispels common myths that JEE Advanced success requires extreme study hours alone. Instead, it highlights the power of smart planning, guidance, and self-belief.

Rajwardhan and Yash’s journeys now stand as an inspiration to aspiring engineers, proving that with dedication, the toughest goals can indeed be conquered.

Rajwardhan shares “ I began my serious preparation at the start of Class XII and continued to strengthen my concepts through NCERT textbooks and structured modules. Mock tests played a major role in my improvement. I initially scored around 100 marks, but through regular practice and detailed analysis of my mistakes, I gradually improved to 150 and eventually 160–170 by the time of the exam. In the last few months, I followed a strict daily checklist, completing two to three chapters and solving a set number of questions every day. I strongly believe consistency is more important than long study hours. Carefully analysing mock tests helped me identify weak areas and reduce negative marking. Going forward, I plan to improve my Mathematics preparation and complete advanced topics to pursue Computer Science Engineering from a premier institute like an IIT or NIT.”

“I focused on studying efficiently rather than increasing study hours. Instead of long, exhausting schedules, I dedicated focused time to one subject per day and made sure I understood what I studied thoroughly. I relied mainly on resource books for deeper practice, as they offered a wider variety of questions, while mock tests played a crucial role in my preparation. Mock tests helped me identify where I was lacking, especially in Mathematics. I worked specifically on those weak areas, and that improvement was reflected in my final performance. During low phases, I stayed motivated by taking short breaks, playing outdoors, and refreshing my mind. Moving forward, I plan to appear for Session 2 and aim to improve further by covering the topics I missed earlier. After Class XII, I aspire to pursue engineering, particularly in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering,” Yash shared.
