Jalandhar-institute celebrates Vishwakarma Puja, honouring the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship

The School of Engineering and Information Technology at Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar celebrated Lord Vishwakarma Puja with great devotion and enthusiasm. The celebration reflected the institution’s deep respect for skill, creativity, and innovation — values embodied by Lord Vishwakarma, the divine architect of the universe.

The day holds special significance for engineers, artisans, and industrial workers as it recognises the contributions of those who build, design, and innovate to drive societal progress. Vishwakarma Puja is celebrated across India to seek blessings for success, prosperity, and safety in professional pursuits. It is also a moment to express gratitude towards one’s tools and machines, which are cleaned, decorated, and worshipped as part of the rituals.

At AIMETC, the ceremony began with traditional prayers and offerings, invoking divine blessings for creativity and technical excellence. Students and faculty members came together to decorate the campus workshop area, creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere filled with devotion and respect for craftsmanship.

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering, speaking on the profound significance of Vishwakarma Jayanti. He described the festival as a “celebration of skill and creativity that honours Lord Vishwakarma and his craftsmanship.” He further noted that the day serves as an inspiration for engineers and technologists to uphold the principles of innovation, dedication, and ethical work.

Dr. Bagga encouraged students to approach their professional journey with sincerity and precision, reminding them that every tool, code, or structure they create carries the divine touch of human intellect and imagination. “Vishwakarma Puja reminds us that progress is built on hard work, knowledge, and humility. It teaches us to respect the hands that create and the minds that innovate,” he remarked.

The event concluded with a collective prayer for the institute’s continued growth and success, followed by the traditional Aarti and Prasad distribution. Faculty members, students, and technical staff participated actively, reinforcing the spirit of teamwork and reverence for the craft of engineering.

The celebration at AIMETC not only strengthened cultural and spiritual values but also served as a reminder of the vital link between divine creativity and human innovation — an ethos that lies at the heart of the institution’s academic philosophy.
