Harshita Arora, a B.Com and M.Com graduate from Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar always had a love for makeup and teaching. But she didn’t dive into it blindly. She started with a small makeup course, took up a teaching job, and invested that income into building her own beauty brand.
“My only goal was to become independent,” she says. “That mindset pushed me to keep learning and growing – even when things got tough.”
Her early focus wasn’t on profit or popularity, but on quality. “If your work speaks for itself, clients will follow,” Harshita adds.
So, what else do you need?
Skills: Hone them constantly. Passion without skill won’t get you far.
Strategy: Know your next step. Set goals. Learn the business side.
Patience: Overnight success is a myth. Growth takes time.
Adaptability: Be ready to pivot, learn, and improve.
