
Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan. emphasised that the future job landscape will be dominated by new technologies, and India’s education and skill systems are geared towards preparing the youth for this global shift. Speaking at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Pradhan highlighted India’s potential to lead in the working-age population over the next few decades, making the country a focal point for the world.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the government is actively working to enhance the collaboration between education and skill development. Pradhan stressed the importance of cultivating a proficient and skilled workforce to drive the nation’s progress and prosperity.
In addressing the seminar on ‘Building Workforces for Future: Development of Skills for Industry 4.0,’ Pradhan underscored the critical role of digital skills in the contemporary job market. Recognising that the majority of upcoming jobs will be in the realm of new technologies, he noted the need to understand their impact on the knowledge and skills of the youth in the 21st century.
The Minister concluded by stating that India’s entire education and skill ecosystems are strategically designed to ensure the youth are well-prepared for the evolving world of work.
