After completing his first year of M.Com program, Aryan Sharma, who completed his B Com (Hons) ACCA from School of Management Sciences (SOMS) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, decided to take a step forward in his professional journey and explore the field of Chartered Accountancy. He started exploring job portals, built a focused resume, and started applying to relevant firms.
“Eventually, I was invited for an interview at Manjani & Associates, a CA firm located in Delhi. The interview was a new experience for me, especially since it was my first one after my academic internships. During the interaction, I spoke about my qualifications, academic record, and the achievements I had earned over the past few years—such as authoring a book chapter, publishing a research paper, winning a national-level article writing competition, and securing positions in various college events like singing, mimicry, elocution, and debate.”
Acing the goal
Following the interview, the Apeejay alumnus was selected to work as an Accounts Executive Trainee. “It was an entirely new environment. As expected, I made mistakes in the initial phase, but I was fortunate to be guided and supported by my senior, whose mentorship played a key role in helping me settle into the role. The working hours were from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM and I was balancing both work and studies simultaneously. The overall experience has been extremely rewarding.”
He further mentioned that a typical day at Manjani & Associates involved assisting in accounting tasks, preparing vouchers, handling data entries, and learning about financial statements—skills that complement his academic learnings in M.Com and ACCA. Over these few months, he has grown both personally and professionally.
Crediting Apeejay Stya University for shaping his journey, Aryan shared, “My teachers’ constant guidance and encouragement, from research to academics to extracurriculars, have helped me evolve from an average student in school to the top-ranking graduate in B. Com. As I continue this journey, I remain committed to learning, improving, and contributing meaningfully in every space I step into.”
