Recently, Apeejay School, Noida, received a Certificate of Recognition at the Youth Eco Summit 2026, themed Youth x AI Green Leaders of Tomorrow. The recognition was conferred in acknowledgement of the school’s remarkable participation in the summit. The certificates were issued under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, in association with Bajaj Foundation and YuWaah, supported by UNICEF.
At the same summit, Vaanya secured Gold in the Painting category for Classes VII and VIII. She was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for her achievement.
In addition to its participation in the summit, the school has been implementing practical sustainability initiatives. Class VI students have taken up a sustainability project of making ecobricks. As part of the project, students are collecting plastic waste and tightly stuffing it into used plastic bottles to create strong and reusable bricks. The bottles are packed so firmly that they are strong enough to support the weight of an average adult.
The activity is being conducted under the guidance of the Science teacher, Ms Deepali, who is supporting students in understanding the process and purpose of making ecobricks. The Art Department, led by Ms Nandita, has assisted students in shaping these ecobricks into chairs and side tables, demonstrating how waste materials can be transformed into functional items.
Through this activity, students are learning the importance of reducing plastic waste and taking responsibility for the environment. The project is helping them understand how consistent and mindful actions can contribute to environmental conservation and how small efforts can make a meaningful difference.
The school Principal, Dr Neha Sharma, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the students and teachers on their achievement and participation at the Youth Eco Summit 2026.
The accolades received at the Youth Eco Summit 2026 are therefore more than certificates. They represent curiosity guided by mentorship, creativity anchored in purpose, and a community that believes meaningful change begins with young hands willing to act.
