GATE 2026 Result to be released on March 19

The results of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 will be released on March 19, 2026, bringing relief and anticipation for thousands of engineering aspirants across the country. The result will be announced on the official GATE portal, where candidates can log in using their credentials to view their marks and qualifying status.

GATE is one of the most important examinations for engineering graduates in India. It is conducted every year for admission to postgraduate programmes such as M.Tech and PhD in premier institutions including IITs, IISc, and NITs. The exam score is also used by several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment.

How to Check the GATE 2026 Result

Once the result is announced, candidates can access it through the official GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal. To check their result, candidates must log in using their Enrollment ID or registered email ID and password. The result page will display important details such as the candidate’s marks, qualifying status and All India Rank (AIR).

Students are advised to download and keep a copy of the result for future reference, as it will be required during counselling and admission processes.

Scorecard Availability

Although the result will be announced on March 19, the official GATE 2026 scorecard will be available for download later in March through the same portal. Only candidates who meet the qualifying cut-off will be able to download the scorecard without additional charges during the specified period.

The GATE score remains valid for three years from the date of result declaration. This allows candidates to apply for postgraduate programmes or PSU recruitment during this period.

Examination Details

GATE 2026 was conducted earlier this year in February across multiple sessions and test papers. The examination covered several engineering and science disciplines and was held in a computer-based format.

After the results are declared, qualified candidates will be able to participate in counselling processes such as COAP and CCMT, which facilitate admissions to postgraduate engineering programmes in leading institutions across India.
