Experimentation and exploration define Science Week

Day 3 of Science Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, moved beyond textbooks and into real conversations. Girls from Classes VI to VIII attended a focused session on menstrual health. The session aimed to build awareness and remove hesitation around the topic. It created a safe space where students could listen, reflect, and speak without discomfort.

The discussion covered healthy practices, hygiene, and emotional well-being. Students were encouraged to ask questions freely. The environment was respectful and supportive. By the end of the session, the girls took a pledge to practise self-care and spread awareness with sensitivity and confidence. The session strengthened not just knowledge but also mutual understanding among peers.

While the girls attended the session, the boys explored science through art. They participated in a tie-dye activity that explained the chemistry behind fabric patterns. Through this hands-on task, they observed how colours react and bind with cloth. The activity was creative, but it was also scientific. It helped them see how theory works in real life and sparked curiosity about everyday chemistry.

Honouring women in Science

Day 4 focused on exploration and inspiration. Students visited the school laboratories and learned about different scientific instruments. They also reflected on the contributions of women in science, especially Marie Curie, in observance of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The discussions highlighted perseverance, dedication, and the importance of equal opportunities in scientific fields.

Live model demonstrations and an interactive quiz strengthened their understanding. Students engaged actively and connected concepts to real discoveries.

Science and inner balance

Day 5 brought the week to a thoughtful close. Yoga and mindfulness sessions highlighted the link between science and well-being. Students learnt how balance, focus, and awareness contribute to holistic growth.

Overall, the Science Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, was not limited to experiments. It connected knowledge with life skills, confidence, and self-awareness.
