Empowering Educators: Stress management workshop for teachers at Apeejay School, Noida

Teaching is a rewarding yet demanding profession, often requiring educators to juggle numerous responsibilities while maintaining high standards of performance. The pressure to meet educational goals, manage classrooms, and support students can lead to significant stress. Effective stress management is essential for teachers to maintain their well-being and deliver quality education. Recognising this need, Apeejay School, Noida, recently hosted a Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Stress Management, organised by CBSE COE, Noida.

The workshop, conducted by Mr. Pankaj Munjal and Mrs. Sonia Sharma, aimed to equip teachers with essential stress management techniques. The session began with a warm welcome from the school Principal, Ms. Ritu Kohli. In her address, she underscored the importance of stress management in the teaching profession and lauded the initiative taken by CBSE Center Of Excellence (COE) Noida. She emphasised how such workshops are crucial in helping teachers manage stress, which, in turn, enhances their ability to educate and inspire young minds effectively.

The workshop saw the participation of 41 teachers from various schools. Among them were Ms. Ruby Bhatnagar and Ms. Mukta Rakheja from Apeejay School, Noida, who actively engaged in the session. The workshop introduced a variety of key techniques for stress management, including mindfulness practices, time management strategies, and relaxation exercises. These tools are not only beneficial for personal well-being but also play a significant role in improving teaching effectiveness.

Throughout the workshop, Mr. Munjal and Mrs. Sharma highlighted practical approaches to managing stress. They shared insights on identifying stressors, implementing coping mechanisms, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed teachers to share their experiences and learn from one another, fostering a supportive community of educators committed to self-improvement and professional growth.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Amrita Hajela, the Vice Principal of Apeejay School, Noida. She expressed gratitude to the facilitators and participants, acknowledging the workshop’s role in empowering teachers with the necessary tools to handle stress effectively.
