
Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, organised ‘Elaan 2023’ a two-day inter-university cultural extravaganza recently. Around 16 colleges and universities participated in the event with great enthusiasm and zeal and showcased their talent.
Dr BS Sekhon, joint secretary (YA & Sports), Association of Indian Universities (AIU) of New Delhi, was the chief guest. He officially inaugurated the event and praised ASU for putting together a magnificent programme. He took a round of the university assessing all facilities and standards.
Dr Sekhon also announced a national-level AIU event to be organised at ASU besides giving suggestions regarding the construction of ASU auditorium to facilitate the university with many national and international events.
Dr Sucharita, Pro Vice Chancellor, ASU, declared the event open with a welcome speech. A film on Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, ASU’s Chancellor and Chairperson of Apeejay Education Society, was also screened on the occasion.
‘Elaan 2023’ comprised about 16 different competitions for students including solo singing, instrumental, debate, elocution, creative photography, experiential learning with nature, pharma quiz, henna, rangoli, Instagram reel, short film, comic art, street play, group dance, solo dance, and fashion show. More than 300 participants competed and won exciting prizes in the events.
Among the colleges that participated in the cultural fest were Rajdhani College, Delhi, Rawal Institute & Management, Delhi, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, Apeejay institute of Mass Communication, Dwarka, Apeejay Institute of Design, Delhi, GD Goenka University, Sohna, Apeejay International School, Noida, among several others.
While students from different institutes bagged top positions in the competitions, Apeejay College of Fine Arts was the one that went home with the maximum prizes among all.
A power-packed music concert by talented pop singer Anadi Mishra marked the finale of the mega event. He belted out popular numbers as the audience grooved to his tunes.
