May the crackers you burst this Diwali conquer all darkness,
May the blessings of Goddess Laxmi bring in your life brightness
Illuminate your heart
And the journey towards your goal in life, you may restart!
The flower of your life will bloom
And it will disappear; all the gloom.
May you be filled with at least a single blissful thought
And share the gifts you bought.
From Diwali onwards, may you be happy forever,
May you be successful in your endeavour.
May you light many oil lamps
And for athletes, it may disappear; all the cramps.
May the tree of your life grow
And in your garden of pigeons, it may fly, all the crow.
May your life be a rainbow,
And may your destiny glow!
May you live in a house that is golden,
And to anyone you may not be beholden.
Your life will be colourful
And if you are in the stock market, you may be a bull.
May you be filled with knowledge
Through this poem my parents I acknowledge,
These are prayers to God from me,
To God Rama I plea.
May he defeat the Raavan that is in you,
May your mind be as empty as new.
Oh, Diwali, the festival of light,
A time of joy and celebration.
With diyas and candles burning bright,
We banish darkness from the nation.
May your flag always keep flying and smiles flowing,
And the amount of your money may always keep growing!
