Dr Stya Paul, awardee from Apeejay School, Tanda Road, shares her thoughts on values, inspiration, and life lessons

Meet a talented and bright young learner, Aahana Duggal, a Class VII student of Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar. Known for her sincerity, honesty, and cheerful nature, she has made her school proud by receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values 2025. She embodies the spirit of perseverance, kindness, and strong moral integrity.

In a candid interview, she talks about what human values mean to her, among other things.

Tell us about yourself.

I have a deep love for learning and enjoy spending my time studying, playing outdoor games, and expressing myself through dance, which keeps me active, happy, and creative.

When you found out that you would be receiving this award, how did you feel?

I was happy and surprised. It was completely unexpected for me to win such a big award. Also, my teachers not only teach us academic subjects but also guide us with essential life lessons and moral values that shape our character, confidence, and path toward true success in life.

What do human values mean?

Human values are the qualities that every person should have for life to run smoothly. Without them, there would be no respect, discipline, or harmony in the world. During the interview, I tried my best during the interviews and while filling out the forms. But I wasn’t sure whether I would win or not — I just gave my best.

Who inspires you to live by strong moral and ethical values?

My mother inspires me the most. She teaches me everything and guides me in the right direction. I believe honesty is my strongest quality. In the future, I would like to develop willpower and determination like Dr Stya Paul had.

Have you participated in any social service activities?

Yes. On a special day called Masiya, we donate fresh fruits to people in need. Taking part in this act of kindness fills my heart with joy and gratitude, as it reminds me of the importance of sharing, caring, and spreading happiness among those who are less fortunate.

How would you describe your journey at Apeejay School so far?

My journey has been excellent. Our teachers are very polite and supportive. They don’t just teach what’s in books; they also share knowledge about life and good values.
