One of their distinguished alumni, Sahil Rastogi, from the 1996 batch, has gone on to become a successful Chartered Accountant (CA). In a candid telephonic conversation, Sahil shared his experiences at Apeejay and how the school played a pivotal role in his professional journey.

Could you tell us about your professional journey after graduating from Apeejay?
Certainly. I completed my 12th from Apeejay in 1996. After that, I enrolled in a Chartered Accountancy course. I did my graduation from Punjab University, Chandigarh through correspondence, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in January 2003. Since then, I have been practising as a CA.

How did Apeejay influence your career choice?
Apeejay had a significant impact on my career choice. The foundation in accounting laid by my teachers was instrumental. Their guidance and support were crucial in helping me pursue and succeed in CA.

What role did extracurricular activities at Apeejay play in your development?
Extracurricular activities were an integral part of my schooling. Under the guidance of my teachers, I participated in various activities, including chess and table tennis. These activities helped in my overall development and instilled a sense of discipline and teamwork.

Can you share any nostalgic memories from your time at Apeejay?
There are numerous nostalgic memories, but one that stands out is the lifelong friendships I formed. Even today, I stay connected with my batchmates, and we often meet up for coffee. The bond we share is a testament to the strong community at Apeejay.

What extracurricular activities did you participate in at Apeejay?
I was actively involved in various activities such as declamations, CBSE cluster tournaments, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. These activities were not just fun but also helped in developing various skills that are beneficial in professional life.

What advice do you have for current Apeejay students?
Respect your teachers and make the most of the opportunities provided by the school. Apeejay offers a robust platform for academic and personal growth. Cherish these years, and work hard to uphold the school’s reputation.
