Recently, Apeejay School, Kharghar, commemorated its Silver Jubilee and Annual Appreciation Day as a defining institutional milestone, marking 25 years of sustained educational purpose, moral clarity, and social responsibility. More than a celebration of time, the occasion stood as a reaffirmation of values upheld, minds shaped, and futures guided through a deeply rooted commitment to ethical, holistic, and future-facing education.
The cultural programme brought the theme Dharohar Timeless Traditions, Lasting Impressions vividly to life through expressive dance, music, and dramatic performances. Over 1,200 students participated across performances and volunteering roles, reflecting discipline, creativity, and teamwork. The presence of more than 2,300 parents, alumni, and well-wishers, including the school’s first enrolled student from the year 2000, powerfully affirmed continuity and institutional memory across generations.
The group’s Chairperson is Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. The celebration was enriched by the presence of Dr Neha Berlia, Co-Promoter, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, who leads the educational vertical, gracing the grand event with her presence.
The evening was graced by Mr RK Mishra, Additional Director General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai, whose presence reinforced the vital role education plays in national development. The programme was also honoured by Ms Amita Kumari, Postal Representative and In-charge, Vashi BPC, along with senior education officers, academic leaders from across the Apeejay Education fraternity, and representatives from Rotary and allied institutes.
Addressing the large gathering, Dr Neha Berlia said, “This occasion marks a meaningful milestone, reflecting years of commitment, shared values, and lives shaped through education, guided throughout by a simple belief that learning must build both character and capability, with students at the centre of all we do and this achievement belonging equally to our educators, parents, and students alike. To our students, my message is simple — show up with discipline, don’t fear failure, build character without shortcuts, and let your confidence come from preparation and consistent effort, and to our parents, your role remains vital in guiding children with patience, leading by example, and grounding them in strong values, because while technology can enhance learning, character is shaped every day through the choices we make.”
The celebrations commenced with a formal welcome followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising the enduring flame of knowledge and values that have guided the institution since its inception. This was followed by the release of balloons, marking collective aspiration and the formal commencement of the Silver Jubilee year.
A defining moment of the evening was the unveiling of the Silver Jubilee Logo that captured the school’s journey across generations, firmly rooted in heritage while continuously evolving to meet contemporary challenges.
A landmark achievement of national significance was the release of a Commemorative Special Postal Cover by the Department of Posts, Government of India. Granted after rigorous scrutiny and formal approval, the limited edition cover has been registered under an official philatelic series, permanently recording Apeejay School, Kharghar’s contribution to education within India’s postal and historical archives. This rare honour placed the school’s journey within the broader national narrative.
Looking decisively toward the future, the Silver Jubilee witnessed the inauguration of Anvishki, the School Incubation and Innovation Cell. Conceived to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and solution-oriented leadership, Anvishki provides structured mentorship and industry exposure, enabling student innovations to progress toward patenting. Complementing this initiative, the strengthening of the school’s Innovation Club further reinforces a culture of inquiry, research, and problem solving among students.
Imbuing the celebration with profound social purpose was the launch of Mission Hriday, a compassionate initiative in partnership. Through this mission, the school has committed to underwriting 25 life-saving cardiac surgeries for underprivileged children, with two already completed, reinforcing the institute’s belief that education must extend beyond classrooms into meaningful societal impact.
The celebrations were conducted under the able leadership of the school Principal, Dr Sonali V Balwatkar, whose academic vision and administrative stewardship have played a defining role in sustaining excellence, discipline, and progressive learning. The Silver Jubilee also stood as a heartfelt tribute to the visionary Founder-Chairman, late Dr Stya Paul, whose ideals continue to illuminate the institute’s path.
As Apeejay School, Kharghar, steps into its next chapter, the celebration remains a powerful testament to legacy, leadership, and a renewed commitment to shaping responsible, compassionate, and future-ready citizens.
