Class XII students embark on experiential learning journey

Educational excursions play a vital role in holistic learning by offering students real-world exposure beyond classroom walls. These trips foster curiosity, cultural awareness, and social bonding, enriching academic understanding while nurturing critical life skills through experiential learning.

Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, successfully organised an educational tour to Manali for Class XII students from May 21 to May 25, 2025. This five-day journey was designed to blend academic enrichment with adventure, offering students an immersive learning experience amidst the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

The trip commenced with great enthusiasm as students embarked on a scenic drive to Manali, setting the tone for an engaging exploration of geography, culture, and environmental science. The itinerary was thoughtfully curated to maximise learning while providing ample opportunities for recreation and bonding.

A visit to the historic Hadimba Temple gave students a glimpse into Himachali architecture and local religious practices. The Tibetan Monastery provided cultural exposure, fostering appreciation for regional diversity. Mall Road, a bustling hub of local commerce, introduced students to the lifestyle and economic activity of the area.

One of the most thrilling aspects of the tour was the adventure-packed visit to Solang Valley, where students participated in activities such as ziplining, rope courses, and riding the gondola. These outdoor experiences helped build confidence, endurance, and team spirit. The trek to Farsha Waterfall added an element of challenge and wonder, encouraging students to explore nature while learning about flora, fauna, and environmental sustainability.

The highlight for many was the journey to Rohtang Pass, where students witnessed the awe-inspiring beauty of glaciers and experienced high-altitude weather firsthand. This segment sparked interest in climate change and glacial geography, topics of increasing importance in today’s world.

Evenings were equally engaging, offering time for group reflection and fun. A cultural exchange evening provided students with the opportunity to interact with locals, thereby enriching their understanding of Himachali traditions. The DJ Night was a lively celebration, where students let loose and enjoyed camaraderie in a safe and supervised environment.

Overall, the Manali tour was more than just a break from routine; it was a thoughtfully planned educational expedition. Students returned with not just souvenirs, but lasting memories, enriched perspectives, and stronger interpersonal skills. The trip exemplified Apeejay School’s commitment to holistic education, proving once again that learning extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms.
