
Recently, Apeejay School, Noida, in collaboration with Amar Ujala, hosted its much-anticipated Intra-mural Chess Championship, bringing together young minds to showcase their strategic acumen and competitive spirit. The championship featured participants in two categories: Under-12 (Junior) and Under-19 (Senior), drawing a total of 48 students from Classes III to XI.
The event witnessed a vibrant atmosphere as students engaged in intense yet friendly battles of intellect across the chessboard. Each match reflected not only the participants’ analytical thinking and concentration but also their sportsmanship and determination to excel. Teachers and students alike cheered on the competitors, adding to the excitement and energy of the championship.
In the Senior (Under-19) category, Suhanya Johari of Class VIII-D emerged victorious, clinching the first position with exceptional skill and composure. She was followed closely by Samanvi Chandra of VIII-E, who secured the second spot, and Naitik Singh of VIII-A, who finished as the second runner-up, demonstrating impressive strategic play.
The Junior (Under-12) category was equally thrilling, with Abeer Arora of Class VI-B taking the top honors. Vivaan Viswanath of V-A claimed the second position, while Vihaan Jha of VII-A secured the second runner-up spot, highlighting the emerging talent among the younger students.
The championship concluded on a high note, celebrating the intellectual abilities and perseverance of all participants. The event not only recognized the winners but also encouraged every student to continue developing their problem-solving skills and strategic thinking through chess.
