Celebrating strength and leadership: This institute marks International Women’s Day

The HR Club of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm and active student participation. The event was organised around the International Women’s Day campaign theme “Give to Gain,” symbolising the spirit of mutual empowerment, appreciation, and collective progress.

The theme echoed the broader vision of the United Nations, which highlights the importance of inclusive progress and gender equality through its message of resilience and action for women and girls. The celebration aimed to recognise the achievements of women and encourage students to acknowledge the invaluable role women play in shaping society, institutions, and communities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, emphasised the significance of celebrating women’s accomplishments and recognising their inspiring journeys. He noted that the event was designed to express gratitude for the remarkable contributions of women in diverse spheres such as education, social development, and nation-building. According to him, acknowledging these contributions is essential for fostering a culture of respect, equality, and empowerment.

Students of the institute participated enthusiastically in the programme and presented inspiring stories of influential women who have made notable contributions in different fields. Through engaging presentations and discussions, the students highlighted the courage, determination, and leadership demonstrated by these remarkable personalities. Their presentations reflected how women across the world have broken barriers and created opportunities for future generations.

The event served as a meaningful platform for students to reflect on the importance of gender equality and the need to support and uplift women in all spheres of life. It also encouraged them to appreciate the role of women as leaders, innovators, educators, and change-makers who continue to contribute significantly to social and economic progress.

During his address, Dr. Bagga also appreciated the efforts of the event organiser, Dr. Anuradha, for successfully coordinating the celebration and ensuring active participation from students. He highlighted that such initiatives not only spread awareness about gender equality but also inspire young minds to adopt values of empathy, resilience, and leadership.

He further encouraged students to imbibe the qualities exemplified by the women whose achievements were highlighted during the programme. According to him, resilience, compassion, determination, and leadership are values that young individuals should cultivate to contribute positively to society.

The celebration concluded on an inspiring note, leaving the audience motivated and reflective. The programme served as a meaningful tribute to the strength, resilience, and accomplishments of women. It also reinforced the importance of recognising and supporting the invaluable contributions of women in every sphere of life, while encouraging students to work towards building a more inclusive and equitable society.
