Celebrating excellence of students through Scholar Badge ceremony

Apeejay Svran Global School, Sector 21-D, Faridabad, recently hosted its prestigious Scholar Badge Ceremony to honour the academic achievements of high-performing students. This annual event, held for the first time at the school, celebrates the dedication, hard work, and excellence of students excelling in academics, discipline, and extracurriculars from the previous class. The recipients of last year’s class VI (at present in class VII) Scholar Badges are Aarna Sharma, Adhiraj Bhattacharya, Anik Singh Tanwar, Sartaj Singh, Vani Singh, and Viren Kapoor. In a candid interview, these outstanding students shared their thoughts on receiving this honor and their journeys.

Anik Singh Tanwar

He expressed immense joy about receiving the Scholar Badge, calling it a moment of indescribable happiness. When asked about his study routine, he mentioned that it hasn’t changed significantly over the years. “I study in the afternoons and evenings when I’m free,” he shared. Anik enjoys sports, particularly football and cricket, alongside his academic pursuits.

His strategy for staying focused involves studying in a well-lit, distraction-free room and listening to relaxing music during breaks. Reflecting on his favorite subjects, Anik revealed a keen interest in Social Studies, especially History, because he loves learning about India’s rich past. “The stories of the Mughals and Rajput rulers fascinate me,” he said. Staying motivated, for Anik, is simple: “I feel happy that I can study, and the appreciation from my teachers and friends keeps me going.”

Adhiraj Bhattacharya

Also in class VII, he described receiving the Scholar Badge as a proud moment that validates his hard work. His study routine has evolved, with a stronger focus on academics. “Being in class VII feels like a higher responsibility,” he explained. Balancing studies with his love for football, Adhiraj ensures that weekends are reserved for fun.

At home, his family plays a crucial role in maintaining his focus. “My mother helps by ensuring a quiet environment and encouraging me to stay hydrated,” he said. Beyond academics, Adhiraj is proud of his achievements, including receiving the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values. He shared valuable advice for his peers: “Stay focused, avoid distractions, and remember that even if you pursue sports or any other field, education is essential. It opens doors to opportunities and helps you succeed in life.”

Viren Kapoor

Receiving the Scholar Badge brought a wave of enthusiasm and pride for this class VII student. He has adjusted his study routine, reducing screen time to focus more on academics. “I’ve cut down on watching TV and increased my study hours,” he noted. Viren actively participates in sports, enjoying lawn tennis, badminton, football, and cricket at school.

To stay focused at home, Viren follows a structured timetable, which he keeps visible on his desk. His favorite subject is Science, a passion nurtured since childhood. “I find it fascinating and love exploring new concepts,” he said. When it comes to retaining information, Viren has an unconventional but effective method: “I walk around while learning, which helps me remember things better.”
