The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension for its merit scholarship schemes, offering students additional time to submit applications. This extension is applicable for two key scholarship programs: The CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child and the Renewal of the Online Applications for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child awarded in 2023.
As per the revised schedule, eligible candidates can now submit their applications online until January 17, 2025. Schools are required to verify and approve the applications by January 18, 2025.
The CBSE Merit Scholarship for Single Girl Child aims to promote girls’ education by financially supporting deserving female students who have excelled in their Class 10 board examinations. The scholarship also reflects CBSE’s commitment to empowering girls by enabling them to continue their academic journeys without financial constraints.
Eligibility criteria include securing a minimum of 60% in the class X CBSE Board exams and being the only girl child in the family. Applicants must currently pursue classes in class XI or XII at CBSE-affiliated schools. The renewal of scholarships is based on consistent academic performance and compliance with the scholarship’s terms.
Students who wish to apply can visit the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, and navigate to the “Scholarship” section for detailed guidelines and the application form.
This initiative by CBSE continues to support and encourage academic excellence among girls, fostering a culture of equal opportunities in education. Students are advised to complete their applications at the earliest and ensure they meet all requirements for successful submission.
Such initiatives by CBSE reiterate the Board’s commitment to bridging educational gaps and fostering a brighter future for the nation’s youth.
