The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 starting tomorrow. Candidates who have registered for the examination can now access and download their admit cards from the official websites — ctet.nic.in and cbse.gov.in. CBSE has clearly stated that candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre without a printed copy of the admit card, making it mandatory to carry the hall ticket on the exam day.
The registration process for CTET 2026 commenced on November 27 and concluded on December 18. The examination will be conducted in two shifts for different teaching levels. Paper I, meant for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5, will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon. Candidates appearing for this paper must report to their examination centres by 7:30 am, as entry gates will close strictly at 9:30 am.
Paper II, designed for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8, will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. The reporting time for Paper II is 12:30 pm, and no entry will be permitted after 2:30 pm.
Each paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions, carrying one mark each. The question paper will primarily focus on Child Development and Pedagogy, along with subject-specific knowledge and reading comprehension. To qualify, candidates from the General category must secure at least 60 per cent marks, which equals 90 out of 150. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories are required to obtain a minimum of 55 per cent, or 82 marks.
CBSE has also released guidelines for candidates with disabilities. Facilities such as a scribe and compensatory time will be provided only to those eligible under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016.
To download the CTET 2026 admit card, candidates should visit the official website, click on the admit card link, enter their application details, and download and print the hall ticket for future reference.
