Apeejay School, Saket recently organised an insightful Career Counselling Session for students of Classes X and XII. The session, conducted by renowned Career Counsellor Mr Jatin Chawla, aimed to help students explore emerging career options and understand the changing dynamics of the global job market.
Mr Chawla, who has mentored thousands of students across India, began the session by highlighting how the right information and timely guidance can pave the way to success. “Information,” he said, “is the essence of success. Students must not only prepare for exams but also for the future they wish to create.”
Understanding the Future of Work
In an engaging and interactive presentation, Mr Chawla shared insights into the Top 7 Global Careers that are shaping the world today. These included Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Digital Marketing, Financial Analysis, Sustainability and Climate Change Studies, Cybersecurity, and Psychology and Mental Health professions, among others.
He explained how industries are evolving rapidly, with technology, creativity, and social awareness merging to form new roles that demand interdisciplinary skills. The students were encouraged to align their academic strengths and personal interests with real-world opportunities.
A Session Packed with Practical Guidance
Mr Chawla also offered practical advice on how students can make informed career choices. He urged them to research career pathways early, identify skill gaps, and stay updated on market trends. The speaker emphasised the importance of internships, networking, and developing strong communication skills – qualities that are highly valued by employers worldwide.
The interactive nature of the session allowed students to ask questions and clarify doubts about courses, universities, and career trajectories. Mr Chawla shared real-life examples of successful professionals who followed unconventional paths, motivating students to think beyond traditional options like engineering or medicine.
Nurturing Confidence and Clarity
The event proved to be a valuable learning experience for students standing at crucial decision-making stages in their academic journey. It not only broadened their horizons but also instilled confidence to pursue careers aligned with their passion and aptitude.
Principal Dr Sujeet Eric Masih stated that such sessions play a vital role in shaping students’ future choices. “Kudos and congratulations to the thoughtfulness leading to the change,” he said.
