BuildingFutureLeaders: “My journey at Apeejay School has been very meaningful”

For students who grow up within the same school ecosystem, the journey becomes deeply personal. Armaan Kamal, a Class XII Commerce student at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, has been part of the institution since Class I. From his earliest school memories to preparing for higher education abroad, Armaan’s years at Apeejay School reflect how consistent guidance, supportive teachers and co-curricular exposure help shape confident, well-rounded individuals.

Read edited excerpts:

Having been part of Apeejay School since Class I, how would you describe your journey so far?
My journey at Apeejay School has been very meaningful. Some of my earliest memories are of my teachers, many of whom still motivate me today. As a young child, school felt exciting and full of familiar faces. Over the years, many friends moved on and some teachers were transferred, so things changed, but the bond with the school remained strong.

In what ways has the school contributed to your overall development beyond academics?
Apeejay School has helped shape my personality, not just my academic learning. My teachers encouraged me in both studies and sports, which helped build discipline and confidence. They focused on improving my nature and behaviour as well, which I feel is very important.

Sports play an important role in school life. How has your experience been in this area?
I actively play badminton, which has helped me stay focused and active. One achievement I will always cherish is winning a prize in long jump during my middle school years.

As you prepare to step into the next phase of life, how has Apeejay School prepared you for the future?
I am planning to pursue a BBA degree abroad after Class XII. While I am currently focusing on my board examinations, my teachers, especially my English teacher, have shared valuable life and career lessons. Hearing about their personal struggles and experiences inspired me and gave me clarity about working hard and staying committed.

What is something your younger self at Apeejay School would be proud of today?
My younger self would be proud that I am still part of Apeejay and carrying forward the values the school has taught me.
