A quiet determination and a love for solving real-world problems led Srishti Bhatt to pursue Computer Science Engineering at Manipal University, Jaipur. A 2024 batch alumna of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, Srishti opens up about her school memories, academic passions, college life, and future dreams. Here’s an edited version of our conversation. Srishti, tell us what drew you to engineering. Was it a long-standing dream?
Yes, I’ve always liked solving practical questions and thinking technically. I enjoy logic and structured thinking, so engineering felt like a natural fit.
Does this passion run in the family?
Yes, it actually does! I’ve grown up seeing people around me in the field, and that definitely made an impact.
What role has your school—Apeejay Panchsheel Park—played in your journey?
A huge role! My teachers were very supportive, especially in Classes 11 and 12. They solved our doubts patiently and constantly encouraged us. It really helped in building my confidence and academic discipline.
What were your favourite subjects in school?
I loved Geography and Mathematics. Geography fascinated me with all the details about places, wind patterns and physical processes.
Interesting! You didn’t choose Humanities though—why?
I enjoyed Geography, but I wasn’t inclined towards the other Humanities subjects. So I chose the science stream, which I found more aligned with my strengths.
Were you active in extracurricular activities?
Very much! I loved sports—swimming, volleyball, and basketball. I really played a lot. I also enjoyed drawing a lot—it was a nice creative outlet.
Any special or inspirational school memory that stands out?
I always found the school assemblies inspiring. The stories shared during those morning sessions stayed with me. They had a way of making you think and reflect.
Finally, how’s life at Manipal University, Jaipur? Has the B.Tech experience matched your expectations?
It’s definitely a learning curve! Things are a bit tough at times, but I’m gaining a lot of new knowledge every day. That’s the best part—I feel productive and intellectually stimulated.
