How did your journey with basketball begin, and what keeps you passionate about it?
When I first started playing, it was all about having fun with my friends and enjoying the thrill of the game. But over time, my love for basketball has grown deeply. Now, it’s not just about winning — it’s about teamwork, strategy, and constant learning. The game has taught me discipline, patience, and how to perform under pressure.
As a Sports Captain, how has basketball helped you grow as a leader?
Basketball has given me confidence and leadership skills that go beyond the court. Being the Sports Captain at school is an honour — it means leading my team and supporting the sports department alongside our teachers. I’ve learned to communicate better, motivate others, and handle both success and failure gracefully.
What’s the most valuable advice you’ve received from your coach?
One lesson that has truly stayed with me is to “strengthen your strengths.” It’s easy to focus on weaknesses, but my coach taught me that refining what you’re already good at builds a stronger foundation for growth.
How do you balance academics and sports, especially during tournaments?
It’s all about discipline and planning. I’m regular to school and make sure my studies never take a backseat. Balancing both requires time management and support from teachers and peers.
Can you share a memorable moment from your basketball journey?
I’ll never forget a district tournament where I made a three-point buzzer-beater that secured the bronze medal for our team! It was an emotional moment filled with excitement, pride, and gratitude for my teammates and mentors.
What’s the biggest lesson basketball has taught you?
Basketball teaches you that success isn’t just about individual performance — it’s about teamwork. Even when we lost a match, we learned from our mistakes, supported each other, and came back stronger. It’s a sport that builds both character and community.
