He is, at present, studying in Class X at Apeejay School, Noida. Hindi holds deep significance for him, as it is not only his mother tongue but also one of the most widely spoken languages in our country. He enjoys expressing his thoughts in Hindi because it allows him to connect with people in a more meaningful and emotional way. “It also nurtures a strong sense of unity and cultural identity,” Prakhar Rastogi said, who is at present Editor (Hindi) for his school.

In a candid interview, he shares that beyond academics, he is interested in music and pursuing the final grade piano exam from Trinity College London.

What made you take up the role of Hindi Editor?

I aim to present Hindi in an engaging and meaningful way that connects with readers while promoting the language. Writing is my strength, and this role allows me to contribute effectively to the school magazine. Hindi represents unity, cultural identity, and a growing global presence, especially through digital and international platforms.

How do you choose content for modern readers while keeping Hindi’s roots intact?

I focus on topics that are relevant and interesting for the present generation. This includes social issues, technological developments, and stories and poetry written by our schoolmates. Since our readers are mostly students, the focus is to present content that feels engaging and relatable, while still preserving the essence and richness of Hindi.

What challenges do you face while presenting content?

To present content in a way that captures students’ interest, especially when many readers are more inclined towards English. I address this by writing in a clear and simple style that is easy to read. I also try to make the content more engaging by incorporating humour and visuals wherever possible.

How has working as a Hindi Editor helped you grow, academically or personally?

It has helped me improve my writing and research skills significantly. It has also boosted my confidence, creativity, and sense of leadership and responsibility. Most importantly, it has strengthened my bond with the language and given me a sense of pride in promoting our cultural identity.

What message would you give to students who think Hindi is less important?

Hindi is a vibrant and evolving language, enriched by its many regional dialects and spoken widely across the world. Its expressive vocabulary allows a deep emotional connection. In the digital age, it continues to thrive across social media, podcasts, films, and online platforms, resonating strongly with people’s thoughts, feelings, and everyday experiences.
