In a candid interview, she shares her experience of participating in the competition, among other things.
What are your interests?
I like dancing and drawing the most. I enjoy colouring with watercolours because they make my drawings bright and beautiful. I draw flowers, trees and sometimes cartoons. Dancing makes me feel active and confident.
You won a medal. What did you make for the competition?
I got third prize. I was very excited when my name was announced. It was a big achievement for me. I made a puppet, which is also called a kathputli. It took my half-an-hour to make it. I made it using waste materials from home, like a basket, a bottle, flowers and an LED light. I like making creative things from home materials because it is fun and useful.
What were the challenges?
The most difficult was to attach the head to the rest of the body. We could not use glue! So, I attached it with double-sided tape and fixed it carefully. I also used strings. I did it slowly so that nothing would fall. While the idea was my mother’s and my aunt’s, I made it on my own.
How do you manage your studies with all your activities?
Getting full marks in the subjects is important for me. But I enjoy different activities as well. I come home, complete my work on time, and listen to the teacher carefully in class. I love to learn new things every day.
