‘Art is a fun hobby that helps me express my emotions’

Inaya Gaurav Bhagat is a brilliant artist, who is studying in class 7 at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar. Her painting on the occasion of National Football Day mesmerises on the first glance itself.

Selected as this week’s Apeejay Aspiring Artist, shy Inaya who usually lets her colours and brush do the talking, opens up on her artistic philosophies and love for anime.

Inaya, when did you start drawing?

I began drawing when I was in class 1.

And what inspired you to start drawing?

My father is also great at drawing. He is a doctor by profession but an artist by passion. He taught me how to draw.

And what was the motivation behind the brilliant National Football day painting?

My teacher gave me this task. I have always been active in creative arts, so I had a great time making it. It took me about an hour or more to paint this.

Do you yourself play or watch football?

No, but I love to play volleyball. I enjoy that sport in school.

And how does your school encourage you?

I like to paint and create more and more art and so whenever I am given an assignment in the same field, I feel easily encouraged.

Out of sketching, drawing, painting, which do you like the most?

I love working on details. I love to paint and love how the acrylic colours give different shades on the canvas or paper.

Upcoming artworks?

I am going to paint something related to volleyball. I also love watching anime. My favourite theme of painting is drawing characters from anime. My favourite is Shoyo Hinata from Haikyu series.

Finally, what does art mean to you?

A fun hobby where I can express my emotions and creativity.
