Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, celebrated Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm by organising a special programme of patriotic activities. The celebrations sought to deepen students’ sense of national pride while encouraging them to channel their creativity into meaningful tributes for the nation’s heroes.
The celebrations began with the “Make and Wear Tiranga Brooches Activity” for Classes IV and V. Students crafted vibrant tricolour brooches using handmade materials and wore them proudly on their uniforms. These self-made emblems symbolised the children’s affection for and commitment to the nation.
For Classes VI, VII, and VIII, a “Tiranga Rakhi Making Competition” was conducted. Students designed eco-friendly rakhis in saffron, white, and green, dedicated to soldiers and armed forces personnel. The most artistic and heartfelt rakhis were selected to be sent to servicemen as tokens of gratitude.
Class IX students participated in a “Tiranga Rangoli Competition,” where they showcased their artistic flair by creating rangolis in the colours of the national flag. Using powders, flower petals, and pulses, the rangolis reflected the themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and unity. They were evaluated on creativity, neatness, and relevance to the national spirit.
The senior-most students of Classes X and XI expressed their patriotic sentiments through a “Letter Writing Activity.” Composing heartfelt letters in both English and Hindi, they conveyed gratitude and appreciation to the armed forces and police personnel for their unwavering service to the nation. The best letters are set to be forwarded to army units and local police stations.
Through these varied initiatives, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park created a vibrant atmosphere of patriotism, where students actively engaged in honouring the values of freedom and unity. The celebrations also instilled a deeper awareness of the sacrifices made by the nation’s protectors.
