Apeejay School, Kharghar, celebrates the 77th Republic Day with pride and purpose

The 77th Republic Day at Apeejay School, Kharghar, was celebrated with profound pride, reverence, and an unwavering sense of national spirit. The thoughtfully curated programme aimed to honour the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India while instilling in students the values of democracy, unity, discipline, and responsible citizenship.

The proceddings commenced with a solemn morning assembly, setting a dignified tone for the occasion. The arrival of the school Principal, Dr Sonali Balwatkar,  was marked by a formal Guard of Honour, symbolising respect for leadership and the institution’s core values. This was followed by the unfurling of the National Flag and the collective singing of the National Anthem, moments that evoked deep emotion and reinforced a sense of unity among students and staff alike, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters.  

A meticulously coordinated march past by the students stood out as a highlight of the programme. Demonstrating discipline, synchronisation, and teamwork, the march past reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing respect for national traditions and collective responsibility.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal reflected on the historical importance of Republic Day and its relevance in contemporary times. She emphasised that the Constitution is not merely a document, but a living framework that guides citizens in their everyday actions. Encouraging students to play an active role in nation-building, she urged them to be informed, empathetic, and conscientious individuals who uphold democratic values in both thought and action.

The celebration was further enriched by cultural performances, where students expressed messages of patriotism, unity, and resilience through music and movement. Speeches delivered in both English and Hindi highlighted the significance of civic awareness, democratic ideals, and collective responsibility, adding depth and inclusivity to the programme.

More than a ceremonial observance, the Republic Day celebration at Apeejay School, Kharghar, served as a moment of reflection and renewal for the entire school community. It reinforced the belief that true patriotism lies in everyday actions rooted in integrity, respect, and social responsibility. The programme concluded on an inspiring note, leaving students motivated to uphold constitutional values and carry forward the spirit of the Republic with purpose and pride.
