
Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated the 76th Republic Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm, marking the historic occasion with a series of activities that brought together students, faculty, and staff. The event commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour flag, symbolising the nation’s pride and sovereignty, followed by a collective rendition of the National Anthem.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, along with faculty members and students, participated wholeheartedly in the celebrations, expressing their deep respect for the National Flag and the Constitution of India. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of unity and devotion as everyone reflected on the principles that define India as a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic.
In her address, Dr. Dhingra emphasised “the importance of Republic Day as a moment to honour the visionaries and freedom fighters who laid the foundation for an independent and progressive India”. She highlighted the significance of engaging the youth in such national festivals, stating, “National festivals certainly hold a special place in our lives, and it is essential to make today’s youth an active part of them. This fosters feelings of unity and brotherhood while instilling the values of responsible citizenship.”
The event not only paid tribute to the country’s glorious history but also served as a reminder of the responsibilities each citizen holds in building a better future. The students were encouraged to embody the ideals enshrined in the Constitution and contribute actively to the nation’s growth and development.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, with participants immersed in patriotism and a renewed sense of commitment toward upholding the democratic values of the nation.
