
Talent artists from Apeejay institutions of Jalandhar recently presented a spectacular dance-drama titled “Krishnam” at the prestigious Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. The grand cultural production celebrated the divine leelas of Lord Krishna and captivated the audience with its artistic brilliance, spiritual depth, and vibrant storytelling.
The performance brought together nearly 60 talented artists from various Apeejay schools and colleges, who collaborated to portray 14 significant episodes from the life of Lord Krishna. Each segment of the production reflected devotion, cultural richness, and creative excellence. The episodes included Krishna Janma, Kaliya Mardan, the enchanting Radha-Krishna Raasleela, the playful Holi with the Gopis, the emotional episode of Draupadi Cheer Haran, and the deep devotion of Meera Bai, among several others. Through expressive dance movements, dramatic narration, and powerful music, the artists brought these timeless stories to life on stage.
The production stood out for its seamless blend of dance, theatre, music, and visual design. Elaborate costumes, vibrant stage settings, and carefully choreographed sequences enhanced the dramatic appeal of each episode, creating an immersive experience for the audience. The performers displayed remarkable dedication and artistic finesse, ensuring that every scene reflected the essence of Krishna’s life and teachings.
The event was organised under the patronage of Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University. Her vision and commitment to promoting India’s rich cultural heritage have inspired numerous initiatives that celebrate art, tradition, and creativity across Apeejay institutions.
Speaking about the significance of the programme, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, emphasized that such initiatives provide students and faculty with a national platform to showcase their artistic abilities. She highlighted that cultural events like “Krishnam” not only nurture creative talent but also help young learners connect with India’s timeless traditions and spiritual narratives.
The evening was graced by several distinguished guests who added prestige to the event. Mr. Vivek Pratap Singh attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Naunihal Singh and Ms. Garima Singh joined the celebration as Special Guests. Dr. Siddharth Sharma, Advisor to the Government of Haryana, also contributed to the successful execution of the programme and appreciated the efforts of the organizers and performers.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, artists, and audience members whose presence and encouragement made the event a memorable success.
