A staggering 92% of Indian professionals believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will enhance both the speed and quality of their work, according to Atlassian’s State of Teams 2026 report. The study, based on insights from 12,000 knowledge workers across six regions — including India, the US, Australia, France, Germany, and the UK — examines AI adoption, information management, and team collaboration.
One of the report’s key findings highlights a significant productivity challenge: Employees waste nearly 27% of their workweek searching for information. Within Fortune 500 companies, this inefficiency translates to major losses in time and productivity. Additionally, 72% of workers report that the only way to access required information is by asking colleagues or scheduling meetings.
In India, 61% of respondents admitted that teams in their companies sometimes unknowingly duplicate work, leading to inefficiencies. Furthermore, 90% of professionals said that clearer business goals and strategies would make their work more effective.
The report underscores the need for businesses to invest in AI tools and training to maximise workplace efficiency. As AI continues to reshape the professional landscape, its effective adoption will be crucial for enhancing teamwork and driving business success.
